please don't go
the softest rec the society has ever seen. sentimental sunday is here.
“My heart begs for you.”
consider this your only warning for the sappiest newsletter edition to date.
✦ sentimental sunday
first off — happy mother’s day.
if you’re a mom, you’re amazing.
if you’re a boy mom — please raise little xadens, zades, aarons. the world needs more of them and so do we.
if you’re a girl mom — raise the badass fmc’s. they’re going to need it.
and if you forgot — go wish your mom a happy mother’s day. right now. we’ll be here when you get back.
✦ the precursor
tropes/genres: friends to lovers, he falls first, baseball romance, trauma bonding
standalone/series: book #1 of the the midnight strike series
smut rating: 2.5 - this one is not here for the smut. and that's okay.
sentiment rating: 9 - it will sit with you long after the last page.
✦ one-line synopsis
two people drowning in grief collide one night, try to forget each other, and instead get pulled into something softer, heavier, and way harder to walk away from when fate keeps forcing them back together
✦ un(filtered) thoughts
this one sat in my kindle library for a while for 2 reasons:
i’m not the biggest fan of friends to lovers.
i’m immediately picking up a darker romance 80% of the time.
but, i’m glad i picked this up and here’s why.
it’s sweet.
now — if you don’t need sentiment to balance the smut, skip this one. no shame. but if you want a book to take to the beach, sit in your feels, or it’s that time of the month — this is the perfect book.
she’s suicidal and about to jump. and he catches her. but he doesn’t just catch her — he sees her.
she’s the black cat. he’s the golden retriever. but a golden retriever who lost his own sparkle through grief and guilt, and gets his glimmer back when he finds her.
this is one of the softest recs the society has ever seen. and probably ever will.
if you’ve read from lukov with love — think that level of burn, with a sprinkle more spice.
“He’s only staring at me like I’m everything he’s prayed for.”
god when is it my turn?
✦ where to read - please don’t go by e. salvador
→ read it on amazon
→ add it to your bookshelf in the library
if you’re spiraling and need more, the library shelves are organized by mood, not morality.

“Eyes on me.”
↩︎ in case you missed last week
think super spicy and leans MUCH darker.
✦ fictional boyfriend we’re obsessed with
(chosen by the society — most saved book this week)
tiernen callaghan (2 weeks in a ROW!!)
apparently the society has a type. (obsessive)
moving on…
have you ever loved a book you probably shouldn’t? or finished one and immediately forgotten everything about it?
same.
